The Buffet Line and the Ugly Aftermath

Line 'em up, pups. Time for dinner. Yummmmm. Such enthusiastic eaters.

.

Um, brindles, pay attention. Hello, where are you going? Eat your dinner, please!

.

None of the red puppies are leaving their dinner, they're all business. Brindles, come back to the buffet please and finish your dinner!
.

And the aftermath of all those cutie little patooties lined up for dinner. Gag. Who's going to take care of this? I only liked the cute, puppies lined up and eating part of this deal.

.

Ahh, yes. The in-home clean up crew approaches. Places everyone!

If anyone tries to tell you that Vallhunds aren't smartbrilliant, well, don't believe them. Hawk simply grabs the edge of a towel, and pulls the bowls right to the edge of the pen. Good work, Hawk. (as an aside, Hawk can also extract giant stuffed toys from the pen through the bars, I have no idea how!)
.

Kane moves in to assist Hawk with the two bowls he's pulled closer.
.
.
Gizmo's method is a bit different and requires concentration and accuracy as he reaches out for one tiny morsel at a time. I love this little girl watching her Uncle, maybe with a bit of hero worship? :-)
And we've all made it through another meal!

Kissing Cousins

Mr. Brindle (on the right) playing with his cousins. He and brindle girl 1 kept touching noses, it was so sweet.
.

.

Run, Red Boy, run!!! The girls have invaded, and you have no idea what you are up against!

.

"Are the girls gone yet? Cuz we're 'zausted."

Deer Ant Wawa

"We fink we gonna needs a bigger bed."

Puppy Party, St. Louis Style!

"Meet me in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the fair,
Don't tell me the lights are shining
any place but there"
Well, Auntie Laura is on board, and since we have many puppy admirers that live in the eastern part of the state, the puppies are going to pack it up and go visit Cooper and Auntie Laura in a few weeks!
While we aren't going to be *exactly* in St. Louis, Laura won't move any closer to KC to accomodate us! We'll be visiting in Sullivan, MO, and if you are interested in joining the puppy party, leave a comment or email me and I can keep you posted about the party plans!
It'll be a Saturday, probably January 23rd (depending on what fits Laura's schedule and the weather forecast the best), and the puppies will be heading east! *Of course, everything is dependent on the weather, and the well-being of the puppies, so the date is tentative*

Fwuffernutter?

I'm thinking that if this Sta-Puft marshmallow is indeed a fluffernutter, it will be more cute than the world can stand! I'm sure it's a surprise that I love this puppy. :-) Do I care that if he rolls on his back, he's more turtle than dog trying to flip back over? Do I care that he thinks the front two feet only constitutes being ON the puppy pad? Do I care that he can't run three steps without toppling over because he's so excited about running? Nope. I love that when I come in the room and greet the seemingly empty puppy pen, a simple "Hi babies" brings a big red marshmallow running and falling over himself and his brother trying to run out of the little puppy carrier to see me, tail wagging. And, of course, it may also be that I just love the red dogs...

Agility Dog?

This dog does have agility titles, right? This is Syd, watching over her boys from the makeshift temp pen while the boys are still spending time upstairs. I used the Kirkland biscuit box to make a taller doorway to contain the escapee boys. At first, Syd whined and paced on the other side of the box. It might be 10 inches tall (she jumps 12 in agility!). So, for the Diva, I had to accommodate. Syd's favorite place to lay is a pet sofa that sits on top of a Kuranda elevated bed. I moved it over in front of the opening so that Syd can just hop over from the sofa and into the pen. It seems to suit her just fine, and as a bonus, she loves to lay on the sofa and watch her boys sleep. :-)

Momma Dog Snow Break

The momma dogs took a break from the babies this morning, because it's Christmas, and it SNOWED! Nothing can keep a Cardi-girl from the SNOW! In anticipation of the overnight snow, last night I put my camera (fresh batteries and a new card), my snow boots, coat, and gloves right by the back door. It was mayhem this morning as the dogs waited impatiently while I "suited up" in my snow gear and grabbed the camera. We'll have lots of snow photos to share over at The Hurrikane Chronicles sometime later today.Somehow, Bree can be acting like a hooligan, but always get herself together for a photo. How is that?
Meanwhile, nobody said you have to have SNOW to have fun playing! The girls are getting more active, and the cute factor is increasing exponentially!

Elves are Busy

Santa's elves are super busy, loading the sleigh and getting everything ready for tonight's special trip. This elf was so busy and moving so fast, his photo is just a blur of activity!

Santa, Baby

Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
I've been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
I'll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa honey, I wanna yacht and really that's
Not a lot
I've been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie, there's one thing I really do need, the deed
To a platinum mine
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's
I really do believe in you
Let's see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo

Merry Christmas to all our Blogging Friends!

One Month Old, and Shakin' It

It's hard to believe that the boys were born 1 month ago. That's also how long it's been since I've gotten any sleep ;-P Hard to believe in just one month, the boys have gone

From THIS...

born 5 days prematurely by emergency c-section

To THIS...

To THIS...

I'm not even going to mention the major hiccup along the way, and I'll keep hoping that it's all behind him now.

The boys celebrated by getting wild and crazy last night, showing off just how big and strong they are getting. Enjoy the video! (you might turn the volume down, the lens cover kept clanking and scraping on the camera while I used my free hand to interact with the puppies!)

Puppy Pile

Puppy Pile for the day, Breezy's Girls. 18 days old. The new puppy bed is a gift that Aunt Laura brought over when she came to help with puppies. The girls say, "We love it Auntie Laura! And it matches red and brindle really well."

Breezy's Girls - 2 Weeks

Breezy's girls turned 2 weeks old on Friday. Sorry it's so late, things have been, well, crazy for the last few weeks! All eyes opened yesterday, but (gasp) my camera broke, and I am allowing myself to cry at least three times a day about it. UPDATE: My camera might be OK. Somehow the photos ARE transferring over to the card, but I had to run a scan with a photo recovery program to see that for some reason they were either written over or the card got reformatted. Now I need to find a good, free program to recover them. Maybe we'll be back in business with my trusty old camera soon!

So, here are the girls, and I'll have to try to find my old camera and see if it can take a photo in focus to help us limp along with puppy photos...

Brindle Girl 1.

Brindle Girl 2. Love the stripes on the inside of her left ear.
Red Girl 2. She was not happy about me waking her up just for a photo.

Red Girl 1. Cute as ever!

Some Group Photos of the little girl family.

The boys are 4 weeks old today, and this morning I went upstairs to find both puppies and their momma Syd running around the bedroom, chasing and playing with each other. Guess it's time to move to the big puppy pen permanently!
